Yerevan Court Orders Two-Month Pretrial Detention for Erebuni Gunman

A court in Yerevan has granted a National Security Service motion and ordered that Aram Manukyan, one of the gunmen of “Daredevils of Sasun” injured in the overnight shootout with police, be held in pretrial detention for two months.

Manukyan, along with his father, Pavel Manukyan, is facing charges of illegal acquisition and possession of weapons and of seizing state buildings, vehicles and/or communications facilities.

The NSS motion for Pavel Manukyan’s arrest will be heard in the coming days, when the gunman will have recovered enough to leave the hospital. Earlier today, Manukyan informed reporters through his lawyer Inessa Petrosyan that he wished to take part in the court hearing.
