Two Armenian Soldiers Dead in Dugout Collapse: Press

Koryun Harutyunyan and Igor Hakobyan, the two 19-year-old conscripts who were found dead in a Nagorno-Karabakh military unit on May 3, died as a result of a collapse of a dugout, Rubik Ghukasyan, the village head of Verin Getashen in Armenia's Gekharkunik province, told Hraparak.am.

According to the village head, Igor Hakobyan “was a very well-mannered, nice boy” and was due to be demobilized in 8 months.

Koryun Harutyunyan, as previously reported, was a resident of Gekharkunik's Geghamasar village. Hraparak writes that, according to rumours circulating in the village, the dugout collapsed as a result of an Azerbaijani military offensive, and the two other soldiers in the shelter suffered minor injuries.
