‘No Traces of Violence or Gunshot Wounds’ on Armenian Soldiers Found Dead in Karabakh

Two Armenian soldiers, Koryun Harutyunyan and Igor Hakobyan, were found dead in a military unit in Nagorno-Karabakh on May 3 under unknown circumstances. Sona Truzyan, adviser to the country's Investigative Committee's Chair, told Hraparak.am that an external examination found no traces of violence or gunshot wounds on the conscripts' bodies.

“A forensic medical examination and a criminal investigation is underway into the circumstances of the soldiers' deaths,” Truzyan said.

According to Hraparak, 19-year-old Koryun Harutyunyan, due to be demobilized in six months, was a resident of the village of Geghamasar in Armenia's Gekharkunik province, and his body has already been handed over to his family.
