Armenian Activist Finds Manure Outside His Doorstep, Transfers It to President’s House

Armenian civic activist, former political prisoner Vardges Gaspari today, July 8, found a heap of manure outside his doorstep.

The manure, as Gaspari wrote on his personal Facebook page, was placed on the activist's door because on Tuesday he staged a protest outside Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan's house, at the intersection of Proshyan and Demirchyan streets. In Gaspari's opinion, the appearance of the manure was not a coincidence, but a deliberate action against him by the authorities.

According to Gaspari's Facebook, the activist took the dung and placed it outside Serzh Sargsyan's house. “First batch of dung smeared on ss's door…going to send back the rest shortly,” Gaspari wrote.

During his second trip to the Armenian president's house, the activist was detained and taken to the Kentron police station. Gaspari told Epress.am that he was released from custody after he refused to sign any documents.

Note, this was not the first time Vardges Gaspari found manure on his doorstep. A heap of dung was placed outside his doorstep on June 25, 2014, after the activist's yet another protest outside the president's house. Last time, Gaspari did not clean his doorstep for days; he even phoned the president's residence demanding Serzh Sargsyan come and clean the mess.
