Waste Dumped into Hrazdan River: Barev Yerevan Raises Issue to City Hall

Yerevan residents are alarmed that the Geghama Restaurant, located in the Hrazdan Gorge, has been dumping construction waste into the Hrazdan river. Anahit Bakhshyan, from the Barev Yerevan city alliance, sent a letter raising the issue of the waste to Yerevan mayor Taron Margaryan.

“In broad daylight, there is construction waste being dumped into the Hrazdan river. Who is behind that savagery? Where is the supervision of the City Hall and Kentron (Downtown) administrative district’s utilities department, who has allowed them to dump waste in the river? Is it possible that the relevant officials in City Hall don’t see this savagery?

Please commission a corresponding body to eradicate that garbage heap; photos of the waste are attached,” writes Anahit Bakhshyan in her letter.
