Protests Against New Mandatory Pension Law Continue

The Dem Em ("I am against") pressure group against the new mandatory pension law is organizing another demonstration, this time at 12:30 pm on April 9 outside the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Finance, then proceeding to the RA State Revenue Committee.

In a recently released statement, the group says its going to the State Revenue Committee to protect their constitutional rights.

"After publication of Constitutional Court Decision #1152 on April 2, the RA State Revenue Committee continues to leave the format for electronic reporting unchanged and with that, obliges employers to transfer mandatory pension payments, threatening to subject [them] to administrative liability.

"We have to force the RA State Revenue Committee to adhere to the requirements of the RA Supreme Court's aforementioned decision and promptly make the relevant changes in the format for electronic reporting, not allowing employers the chance to make mandatory [pension] payments contrary to the will of their employees.

"Our victorious battle continues…" reads the statement.
